Invitation Update {Invitations} ♥

Hi lovelies, we've been so busy this wedding season, I haven't even had the time to sit down and do a post! Here are some of the invitations that have been keeping us busy lately; some are a little older, but still pretty one that I think you might appreciate. Let us know what you think.

We designed this for one of our recent brides, an absolute Marilyn Monroe fan! Let us know what you think.

We were also recently asked to assist Meisies Hoër with their invitations and stationery for the 2011 Matric Farewell.
They already bought the paper and the rhinestone buckles (beautiful hey). This is what we came up with:

Have a super lovely day

New Team Member - Jenny ♥

It's with great pleasure that we welcome Jenny Prinsloo to our team. We have been super busy the last few months and have received a lot of requests and enquiries, which we think are sooooo awesome and we are super grateful for. Jenny will be starting Monday the 8th of August 2011. Luckily for us she's not only a pretty face, but succesfully own and run her own event flower arrangement company - Heartique. Any of you out there interested in flower arrangements for your big day. Please give Jenny a shout! Big thanks to everyone for their patience and continued support! As it has always been, we promise to give each project our badge of commitment and love. xoxo

Wedding Wish {Charity} ♥

SA SCHOOL OF WEDDINGS MAKES WEDDING WISH COME TRUE:

The SA School of Weddings has founded the not for profit charitable Wedding Wish to realise wedding wishes for engaged couples in Johannesburg and Pretoria who are disadvantaged.

A wedding celebration is the most important event in an engaged couple’s calendar and no-one knows this more than the SA School of Weddings who runs courses to equip students with the skill and know how to plan a wedding.

“I have always been involved in raising funds for charity and believe that the school presents the perfect platform to manage and deliver on the promise of Wedding Wish,” says Khali Collins, owner and founder of
SA School of Weddings.

The Wedding Wish has been developed by the SA School of Weddings to make the wishes of a couple who do not have the means or resources due to being financially or physically challenged, to have a beautiful white wedding in the traditional sense.

“There are a number of deserving charities and organisations working with disadvantaged people all of which are doing great work. However, the one thing that those funds can’t stretch to is a wedding. The SA School of Weddings
is perfectly placed to make a few couples wedding wishes come true,” says Collins.

The weddings will be funded through fund raising events and donations of services to the Wedding Wish from the bridal industry

Each couple, or person proposing a couple, will be required to tell their love story and to motivate why they should be eligible to have their wish come true.

“It is important that the engaged couple is currently disadvantaged or challenged either financially or physically as this is not a win a wedding competition,” explains Collins.

“Each couple will need to tell us their love story and motivate why they are most deserving of this charity wedding.  We will be talking to churches and other organisations who work with disadvantaged people to find our couples,” says Collins.

The first fund raising event will be held towards the end of May and Wedding Wish is already taking submissions from suitable couples.

Easter Hunt Props {DIY} ♥

I just love Easter. And although the reasons for Easter is not only for Easter egg hunts, I will never forget the excitement of searching for the Easter eggs my mom and dad had hid for us in the garden. Alexa & Rob {Urban black & white wedding} ♥

♥ Hi All! This is one of my more recent weddings, and I have to admit that I'm soooo in love with the brides dress from Cinderella's Closet! Absolutely beautiful hey? (breathless!!!). And wait until you read how the groom proposed. I even got shivers and shed a tear. Alexa shared their story with us. Enjoy x

A little about the Bride & Groom

Alexandra & Rob are both doing their masters in psychology and have a little cat called cinnamon. They love going to movies, rock concerts and reading.

How they met...

We met in a bar - eyes met across the room and love at first sight :) first date was coffee -- for 6 hrs! couldn't stop talking to each other, and rest is like they say history...

The proposal...♥
Rob proposed in a very unique way: he made a treasure hunt for me, with clues that lead first to my dad's house, and my dad was standing there with a big sign that said 'will', then on to the roof of Sandton city where he had written you' across three lanes of traffic in the road below (with the help of the Metro cops), then to the place where we had our first date - Rob had given every customer there a piece of paper that said 'marry' and they all gave me the separate pieces of paper. Finally the clues led to Rob himslef, on one knee and he said 'me' and held out my ring :)

The wedding day...
Our wedding day was everything we could dream of - special for us was our first dance, our vows that we wrote ourselves and when we released 100 balloons and all our guests made wishes for us and our marriage. Advice for other brides - cherish every moment, its over so quickly and you really need to try to take some time out o the day, just you and your groom, to savour everything and just to be together. also, dont stress - you think that you NEED that specific colour, or dress or flower but on the day, you really dont notice anything except your groom :)

We would definitely recommend BlackCoco Designs for stationary (so perfect, would recommend whenever), Sanmarie (Makeup and Hair) and Bernard Bravenboer (Photography)- absolutely fantastic! Anyone is welcome to contact us for our cake supplier.

All photo's taken by Bernard Bravenboer except for the last one (invitation) taken by me in our studio.

Hope you enjoyed reading this as much as what I enjoyed posting it.
Lots of love,
Angelique
