SA SCHOOL OF WEDDINGS MAKES WEDDING WISH COME TRUE:
The SA School of Weddings has founded the not for profit charitable Wedding Wish to realise wedding wishes for engaged couples in Johannesburg and Pretoria who are disadvantaged.
A wedding celebration is the most important event in an engaged couple’s calendar and no-one knows this more than the SA School of Weddings who runs courses to equip students with the skill and know how to plan a wedding.
“I have always been involved in raising funds for charity and believe that the school presents the perfect platform to manage and deliver on the promise of Wedding Wish,” says Khali Collins, owner and founder of SA School of Weddings.

The Wedding Wish has been developed by the SA School of Weddings to make the wishes of a couple who do not have the means or resources due to being financially or physically challenged, to have a beautiful white wedding in the traditional sense.
“There are a number of deserving charities and organisations working with disadvantaged people all of which are doing great work. However, the one thing that those funds can’t stretch to is a wedding. The SA School of Weddings is perfectly placed to make a few couples wedding wishes come true,” says Collins.
The weddings will be funded through fund raising events and donations of services to the Wedding Wish from the bridal industry
Each couple, or person proposing a couple, will be required to tell their love story and to motivate why they should be eligible to have their wish come true.
“It is important that the engaged couple is currently disadvantaged or challenged either financially or physically as this is not a win a wedding competition,” explains Collins.
“Each couple will need to tell us their love story and motivate why they are most deserving of this charity wedding. We will be talking to churches and other organisations who work with disadvantaged people to find our couples,” says Collins.
The first fund raising event will be held towards the end of May and Wedding Wish is already taking submissions from suitable couples.
